I am very pleased to have been selected as the first principal of Anchorage STrEaM Academy. Anchorage STrEaM Academy empowers students to be involved learners, critical thinkers and engagd citizens who are inspired by the natural world.

Our Purpose of the Program

Anchorage STrEaM Academy will support students in developing the skills necessary to meet or exced national, state and local standards.

Anchorage STrEaM Academy students will become positive contributing members of society who:

  • have experience partnering with the local community;

  • have built a strong foundation for career readiness;

  • understand the strengths and limitations of technology;

  • realize that learning continues outside the classroom;

  • are defining their role in creating a more sustainable future;

  • recognize the interconnectedness and relevance of all disciplines.


School Mascot and Colors:

As you know, our students selected a mascot! We are the STrEaM Academy RAPIDS! Our advisory leader board finalized their selection for school colors: Forrest Green, Ocean Blue and White. They will be working with the advisory groups they represent to get feedback before bringing this to the APC.

Upcoming Events and Important Dates:

  • STrEaM showing of the film “Most Likely to Succeed” at the BP Energy Center on March 3rd. Doors open at 6, movie begins at 6:30 PM. Suggested donation $5.
  • STrEaM APC Board meeting March 6th at 6:15 PM, at Wayland Baptist University, room 205.
  • TREK to Alaska Rock Gym: March 8 (for 6th Graders) & March 9 (for 7th & 8th graders)
  • Spring Break- No School Friday March 10th, return to school Monday March 20th.
  • PEAKS State testing begins March 28th for 6th and 7th grade, April 3rd for 8thgrade. Parents resources for the PEAKS assessment, including directions for PEAKS Practice tests, called Online Tools Training and PEAKS Tutorials, are on the ASD website at
