Celebrating Year 10!

Anchorage STrEaM Academy was conceived in 2012 by a team of dedicated teachers who taught together at Nicholas J. Begich Middle School. They worked for four years to open a new middle school in east Anchorage with the desire to serve "the underserved communities on the east side of Anchorage". 

In 2016 the founders hired Adam Mokelke as our founding principal and signed a lease for space to teach on the first floor of the Wayland University building at 7801 East 32nd Ave. STrEaM grew in popularity and expanded into all the available classrooms at the university.  

In June 2025 Anchorage STrEaM Academy moved to Nunaka Valley. At the end of the year we will be celebrating our school and our founders in a week long series of event.
